Stupid exams. I thought I had finally got my break, the one I deserved after freaking studying my ass off for the exams. But that idea went down the drain when I got a call from my workplace saying that I had to work since others were either working other days or they had already travelled overseas. Damn those workers who went overseas. But I took the day nonetheless.

Stupid work. I thought today would’ve been a normal day at a restaurant but noooo. I was wrong. Normally, it’s expected that the costumers would finish the food ordered or at least have it as takeaway but there was one family who didn’t. Instead, they had left more than a quarter but less than half of their meal left, causing such a waste. HOW COULD THEY?! IT WAS FOOD! IT WAS THE ONE COMFORTING THING THAT MAN KIND COULD AGREE ON. HOW COULD THEEEYYYY?! Blood was boiling in my veins and it took me nearly everything to not hit them. I just wanted to teach them a lesson on to not waste food. But my professionalism and the fact that this job had a good pay didn’t let me. I had a smile plastered on my face while they paid for their (unfinished) meal.

After that stupid family left and the rest of the costumers soon disappeared, my co-workers and I cleaned the place up. We got everything tidied up and closed the restaurant for the day. It was decided that all of us would go out and just hang out after a long and tiring day at work. We all went to a nearby bar that was open 24/7 and I must say, it was quite a popular place.

Everything went smoothly until the couple of the group suddenly got into a mini fight and sat apart. After working with them for almost a year I knew that nothing could tear these two apart. I got curious as to what had happened so I sat beside the girl, Lily, and found her in tears. God, I’m weak when it comes to tears. I slightly panicked when it comes to comforting and looked around for help. However, everyone else was either enjoying themselves drinking, dancing or flirting. How did they not notice this little drama happening?

I realised that Lily had ordered a shot as well as her guy but I knew he had a high tolerance so I left him to it. I apologised in the inside that I couldn’t do anything to help him. Chicks before dicks after all. I quickly told the bartender to replace it with water instead since I knew she couldn’t hold her liquor. She was still crying so I did the only thing I could think of. I just gave her a tight hug, letting her cry on me. It really upsets me as well whenever someone I care about is in tears; it makes me want to cry as well.

I managed to get her to tell me what happened and I found out what the problem was - that she was tired and that she accidentally ended up hurting her guy. I got her to calm down and ponder on the issue properly. What could she do to fix it? Was it an actual problem? Was she just overthinking things? I gave her time while she thought on her issue as I took a sip out of my drink. I couldn’t handle alcohol that well either so I made sure that I didn’t get tipsy, only taking the tiniest of sips.

I observed the girl in front of me, noticing how her eyes seemed to brighten up the mere name of her guy, how her lips would curl into a smile. I glanced at her guy and noticed that he would occasionally steal a look at Lily, worrying about her. That was true love I thought. I smiled at the love she shared with him and couldn’t help but feel envy. I wondered if I’d ever find someone like that.

Throwing that thought aside, I asked Lily if she got her answer yet. When our eyes met I noticed how her eyes were full of nothing but love and smiled when she got up to walk to her guy. I observed them quietly while they made up and smiled. God, who knew I was such a mother. I walked past them and patted Lily on the head softly and smiled evilly at her guy. “If I find you hurting her, I will hunt you down and slaughter you. Hack you until you’re nothing but tiny pieces of meat and blood.” All I received was a bewildered and fearful look and a stinging punch to the arm.
“ANNA!” Lily glared at me while she held her guy protectively. I laughed heart fully and told them I was joking. Knowing Lily, she’d actually kill me if I even touched him. She was that protective of him but then again, I found that cute.
“Tell the others that I’m going home alright?” Lily nodded her response before returning her attention back to her boyfriend. I swore to god I could see their lovey dovey atmosphere and I felt a sharp pain in my chest but I ignored it. I patted both of them on the shoulders and left.

I left the bar and drove home. Just when I was enjoying my ride home, it hit me. I still had an assignment to do and it was due in almost two weeks. STUPID UNIVERSITY, WHY DO YOU THIS TO ME?!

Stupid stress. I had gotten home and I turned on my laptop. I opened my assignment that was currently half way done and just glared at the screen. ‘WHY DO YOU EVEN EXIST, STUPID ASSIGNMENT?!’ I typed furiously into my document, only to backspace everything. Annoyed as hell, I started working on my assignment despite the time.

Tick tock, tick tock. I slammed my hands down onto my table in pure frustration. I was too stressed for the assignment. In pure frustration, I walked away from my laptop and to the kitchen, opening my fridge. The only way I could get rid of my frustration was from eating and luckily for me, I HAD CAKE! LOTS AND LOTS OF YUMMY CAKE!

I drooled at the mere sight of the heavenly delights; there was nothing else that could comfort me from this stress. Also especially because the pain I felt early came back. I didn’t know what to pick, chocolate cake? Strawberry cake? Sponge cake? Cheesecake? THERE WAS TOO MUCH FOR ME TO PICK!

I chose a random cake and went back to my laptop. Instead of doing my assignment, I turned on some Korean drama and started eating, eating away my stress and pain. After finishing my cake, I still felt hungry and with my sudden craving for sweets, I went and grabbed a box of strawberry pocky. LIKE, OH MY GOD. HOW CAN YOU NOT HAVE POCKY WITH CAKE?! THEY ARE SO DELICIOUSSSS!

Just by eating pocky and watching Korean drama, my stress and pain disappeared.

By the end of it, I never finished my assignment. Well, it was finished by spending the whole night before the day it was due. Luckily for me; I got a passing grade! YAY! Time for a night out with friends to celebrateee!~ YIPPE, NO MORE UNI. HELL YEAH.
